Half of the 1st semester
A short but the most beautiful experience in my first semester.
UiTM PuncakALAM
when I arrived at UiTM Puncak Alam, I created a Spotify playlist that only consists Japanese songs. Most of them are soothing and it really helps me through everything there. Even when I am anxious to go to the cafe alone, this playlist calms me down. I often play it in the bus on the way to faculty too. It feels like I am on a field trip as a student in Japan. Hope you enjoy this playlist!
The 1st day in Puncak Alam
Staying in another campus
For your information, I am supposed to start my foundation year in UiTM Dengkil. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing etc. , the TESL, law and engineering UiTM students need to go to Puncak Alam. We were so disappointed at first because we knew Dengkil is pretty and the area is smaller.
However, as soon as I arrive at the college in Puncak Alam, I think I'm gonna like it there. The scenery is pretty and most of all, the room is soooo BIG!! We have our own room due to social distancing so, it feels like I am renting the whole room!
ODL Experience
We, all UiTM students 20/21 started our foundation year by learning online. The first week is kinda fun to me because I get to know my classmates and learn about each others' interests. However...the 2nd week was HECTIC!! We started our syllabus and there are homework that the lecturers gave us.
To be honest, learning from home is REALLY HARD and TIRING. I need to worry about the house chores, about my younger siblings and all. Some of the lecturers find it hard too, because they can't really feel the interaction and see whether the students understand the lesson or not.
However, ODL at the campus is better for me. Even though it is not a face-to-face class, I can focus better on my studies. And the most important thing is, I can experience the life of a college student! It feels good to meet my classmates and have fun with them. I get to know a lot of people from different states too!!
Advantages

Get to learn more about technology and online platform usage.

Easier to share classwork, documents and files for lesson.

Do not need rush to go to class, because we just use laptop/phone in our room.
Disadvantages

It is hard to focus fully through the class because of bad connection, distraction and more.

There might be miscommunication.

Lecturers don't know whether all students are focusing on the lesson or doing other stuffs.

Looking at the screen for a long time is not good for our eyes and health.
But, no matter how hard it is, we got through this together!
Listening n speaking f2f class
The only subject that has f2f class is lns. Our lecturer, Sir Irwan welcomes us warmly during the first f2f session. We got lost on our way to the lab because the building is so huge and confusing. Even more, we need to go there by bus. Imagine how big UiTM Puncak Alam is...The best thing is, after the class ended, we often go to the cafe together and continue chatting.

Lns class
The first session classmates for lns. It's so fun!
Sadly.....
After the mid-term exam, we need to move to our actual place...To where we supposed to be...Dengkil... Most of us were sad because Puncak Alam is so pretty (even though it's tiring to walk in that big place) and the room is spacious. Besides, we will not have the chance to get into the same house with our classmates anymore and this is dissapointing.
But.. fear not, new adventures await!!
